Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is an British and American sitar player. She also sings. She was the first and first woman to receive a British House of Commons Shield she has had Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian of Indian descent to perform live in concert and act as a host at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shakar, a young emerging singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is the student of Ravi Shankar as well as his daughter. Her birthplace was in London in 1982, and began her life by hopping back and forth between London as well as New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi when she was only 13 years old. In Encinitas California in 1999, she was awarded a high-school diploma. Anouskha was only a teenager, has had an impressive recording and performing career. She often joins her father during performances, something she's done for several years. In 1998, she released Anourag as her first album as a solo artist. The Grammy-nominated Live at Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Because she has performed on many of the biggest stages around all over the globe, her stage career has been extensive. Anoushka isn't just a performer. In 2002, she released a book entitled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is an illustrated biography that gives a special tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in movies in 2003. She acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she portrays an aspiring Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka continues to grow in her career and there will be many other things to be expected from this talented woman. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent the majority of her early years in London and Delhi later relocating to California where she attended the high school. at the age of nine, she started studying the piano with her father. Her first performance with the Sitar was in her 75th birthday celebration in Delhi, four years after. Her father traveled around the globe with her, and she was able to gain many new opportunities. As she was teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. In the end, The House of Commons Shield was awarded in her honor from the British Parliament in recognition of being the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the only woman and youngest recipient of this award.
