Swift's interest in music began at an early stage. From musicals for kids to performing before thousands, Swift made rapid progress. Swift started writing songs when she was 11. She sang The Star-Spangled Banner for a Philadelphia 76ers game. Drawing inspiration from country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of being a tween and feeling alienated. When she was 13 Swift's parents sold their property in Pennsylvania in order to relocate into Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time to courting country labels near Nashville.
